Biblical Preaching and Teaching, Mission Minded Community in Christ

Welcome

Welcome to the Cedarville United Presbyterian Church website.  We've been expecting you.  God is busy here and we invite you to join our growing Cedarville United family for worship, study, small groups, missions and ministry.  This site has been designed to inform members, friends and visitors of what we're about, who we are, and what's coming up.  We aspire to be rooted in Jesus Christ through a common faith, biblical worship, authentic community and helping to fulfill the Great Commission with our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world.

We'll save a seat for ya!

High Hopes for Fall 2008

Another full summer schedule has come to a close. Kids are back to school. Others are off to college. And now, the new fall church schedule is upon as well. I am excited to see what God will do among us this year, with the routine and regular stuff, but especially with the new stuff. Here is what I, personally, am looking forward to the most:
1.                  Youth Group: Jen Elling has been working with many of the youth all summer and is excited to get started with the fall schedule (included in this edition of the Grapevine and on www.cedarvilleunited.com). The emphasis upon youth at our church and the drive to raise money for a paid youth director will definitely lead to some amazing opportunities.
2.                  Cedar Groups: A few years ago, we emphasized small group ministry and had several thriving groups. This fall, I look forward to at least two new groups starting up to continue deepening our fellowship and expanding our outreach. We already have three groups going, but adding more will help us grow. If you are interested in joining a group, please let me know.
3.                  Food Pantry: This ministry in our church is meeting needs like never before. I have also been thrilled with the growing community involvement and awareness. Our Deacons have done an outstanding job organizing and implementing including offering specials like back-to-school backpacks (a big hit!).
4.                  Church and College Relations: This has also been a surprising ministry for our church. Recent and upcoming community worship services, the food pantry ministry, the Patriotic Block Party and other ministry projects like Habitat for Humanity have helped our community churches to grow together along with the college. Past differences have largely been overcome thanks to everyone participating enthusiastically in this vital ministry in our community.
5.                  Worship: Once again, I look forward to meeting together every Sunday for worship. A church that worships together grows together. I look forward to inviting new members of our community to join us and participate with us in ministry for the Lord.
There’s much more going on that I am excited about, but these are just some on the top of my list. Please pray for our church and look for ways you can plug in to help us have our best year yet.

                                   Pastor Drew
